NFX is one of the few Scottish members of Gametechmods, others being System32 and Scourge of teh Galaxy. |
NFX is a relative newcomer to the Gametechmods community, having first downloaded Robot Arena 2 in August 2009, and joining the GTM Forums just two days after. Following a brief departure from the forums for unknown reasons, he returned in April 2010, and started to become one of the forum regulars.
He has a stock showcase here and a DSL showcase here.
He has come under some criticism for creating the 1000 Pages Thread, sometimes shortenened to 1KP, which he claimed was a place where members could spam freely, and not clutter up the other topics. Currently it has reached around 60 Pages, and is also one of only two topics where Scourge of teh Galaxy posts regularly, the other being her own house thread.
Skill
Stock - Knows quite a lot of the glitches, and can build some fairly competitive bots.
DSL - Steadily improving. Likes to experiment, but tends to make bots more for looks rather than combat efficiency.
Modding - Once tried to reskin a few Stock Components, but instead managed to crash his game.
Notable Robots
Altitude - A lifter with an unconventional razor-tipped servo arm which could be lifted over the top of the bot. Recently rebuilt by Sage for Back To The Beginnings.
Snap!Happy - A two-snapper HS with a smiley face on the front. Reached the second round of Wild Robots Live 2.
HaleStorm - A series of popup wedges with improving results each time. He attempted to give HaleStorm 3 an AI in the BBEANS Stock Mod, but this crashed the game.
Blizzard 2 - A MW popup wedge, described as "Halestorm's little brother". Teamed up with Badnik96's Arcade for ROBONOVA 2.
Tribute To Tribute To Mayhem - A rebuild of Naryar's first showcased bot, a VS/Flipper Hybrid, for G.K.'s tournament Back To The Beginnings. Was initially criticised for its short wedges, but managed to pick up a victory against a less-than decent HS, before losing to Pwnator the quickest match in the tournament, and then Sage, with a rebuild of Altitude.
Zombie Pirate Ninja - A DSL Hammerbot which has been entered into BBEANS 6. Regarded by much of the community, including himself, as one of the tournament's SFTWs. It lost horribly against Urjak's shell spinner, before picking up an somewhat unlikely victory in the Loser's Bracket.
Valid Query 2 - DSL Rammer entered for Total Annihilation. Not much was expected from it, but it managed to win its heat, and qualify for the final round.
