Botting Skill, quite frankly, is a measure of how destructive and well built a bot builder can make a bot, in regards to how it fights against other bots. Botting skill can be thought of as "how efficient" your bots works and functions. For moral reasons and because it just wouldn't work out very well, Botting Skill is not exactly calculated numerically, but most (if not all) of the members who have been on the forums for some time can tell just about what "level" someone is just by looking at the bots that they build and how they build them.

What determines Botting Skill?

There are several factors that determine botting skill. They are (but are not limited to):

Since the old forums, a bot builder who plans to excel in bot building are praised and respected MORE on how efficient their bot is IN RELATION TO how original the bot is, with regard to its bot weaknesses. Therefore a good formula to think about concerning this is: The more original the bot is + How efficient it is - The bots weaknesses would = That person's Botting Skill.

The Perfect Bot and Botting Skill

Botting Skill can also relate to building the perfect bot. If a person has perfect botting skills with no building flaws whatsoever, no bot hacks used, and their bot has zero weaknesses, they would essentially have made bot that would be unbeatable no matter what the circumstances are (what bot type that bot battles against, what arena it battles in, etc). However, currently this great feat has not been accomplished...yet.

All about Levels

It is not uncommon for someone to tell you what building level you are on in terms of botting skill, and being told by them tells you roughly where you are in terms of building the best robots that you can. Let's look at the just of what all of this means:

  • The Beginner Level: Typically, a person who has just started playing Robot Arena 2 are on this level. Bot builders have huge empty space, bad weapon, power, and armor choices, bad wheel setup, and awkward chassis designs that are more for form than for function. Most normies and newcomers fall into this category.

An example of a bot built at the beginner level is SFTW by Razer.

  • The Average Level: A person who has some knowledge of building bots but is neither a good or a bad one. Their design still has a lot of building flaws, and is beaten easily in tournaments, though not as much as the Beginner. A lot of members fall into this category and strive to become the Above Average Builder.
  • The Intermediate Level: Builders that are no slouch when it comes to building bots. Builder knows all the basics of building in RA2 and most of the Glitches, Weapon ratios, etc. Empty space is low to average, weapons are effective, drive is effective, and armor and power choices are more than decent. Usually Innovationalists like Gigafrost and Madiaba fall into this category, but this does not relate to their Modding Skills. No surprise if they soon become Experienced builders within a short time span.
  • The Experienced Level: The bot builder knows the ins and outs of bot building, are phenomenal bot creators, and most if not all of their designs are both eccentric as well as effective. They are similar to the Intermediate builders with their difference being in that they have much cleaner designs which are generally more effective. ACAMS and Starcore are some good examples of Experienced builders. These builders also know just about all of the glitches in stock bot building as well as their functions. Other examples include The Ounce and Virus Bomb and NFX
  • The Expert Builder: These kinds of builders strive to be the best and push the limits of the game past what has been done. Every bot is designed to not lose, as these builders are the closest to achieving the perfect bot. Breaking records and developing new techniques are what make these builders the experts. Examples include Sage, Infiniteinertia, Clickbeetle, Pyscolone, and Pwnator. R0B0SH4RK and Scrap daddy could also be considered experts, as they are above the Experienced level.
  • The Perfect Builder: Simply put, a bot builder who can/has built a bot or bots that are unbeatable by any means. Chassis design and weapon setup is flawless. Armor choice and wheel setup is perfect, and every aspect of it was built not only to win, but to always win. No exceptions. InfiniteInertia and Sage came close when Absolute Chaos was developed, but eventually even that bot was beaten. No one has this level yet.
