Respect Rating is a mark to members, from 0 to 100, based on both how others appreciate the user personally AND how the person has contributed to the community.
Most n00bs tend to have very low Respect Rating, and 100 respect rating is generally kept by universally loved members such as Clickbeetle.
Respect Rating is measured in many ways. One is by how many people in general are stepping up to defend the member when criticism rears it's head. It is also affected by how "friendly" the user is towards other members and by how useful they are to the community in keeping it alive. Also, the work a member has done for the whole community (such as a successful tournament or an AI pack) always have a positive, large effect on Respect Rating.
Note: Respect Rating is in most cases not achieved through aggressive acts and brute forum power like Fear Rating, but is more based off of how the community views the individual as a necessity to the workings of the forum, and how the community likes the individual.
Also note that most Innovationalists have a fairly high Respect Rating. This is due to their effect on their innovation toward the forum.
Lastly, you can perfectly have both a high Fear Rating and Respect Rating, such as Naryar and InfiniteInertia
