Clash Cubes is also known for having qualifying to determine the competitor’s line ups on the bracket. for more info on Clash Cube events see www.robotarenacubes.t83.net
Clash Cubes 1
The first clash cubes tournament started in April 2009 and concluded May the same year. Clash cubes 1 held a maximum of 12 competitors in which the top four qualifiers gained a bye first round. The qualifiers are just the bot vs. a house cube.
Qualifying
Cubinator - 3 sec
Afterburner 2 - 4 sec
XenoPhobik III - 4 sec
Smash Down - 4 sec
Cube Tank - 5 sec
Cube not a disk or a Cylinder - 6 sec
Lol another nub bot from me - 7 sec
Bushido's Beyatch - 8 sec
Awful Red Thing FOS - 13 sec
Grey Matter - 25 sec
Big Bad Brother - 26 sec
SnSnSnSnS - 31 sec
Round 1:
Battle 1
SnSnSnSnS got up to full spinning speed straight away, Cube tank tried an attack but it was just thrown to one side, Cube tank tried again getting a run up but was quickly sent in the other direction this time loosing a few weapons along the way. It appeared that one of SnSnSnSnS weapons flew off. was cube tank finally getting a hold on this fight? It just wouldn’t be the next 2 blows saw cube tank loose a piston before being flung into the camera and hitting the roof on the way, time eventually ran out but SnSnSnSnS had gained far more points then cube tank
Winner: SnSnSnSnS
Battle 2
Big Bad Brother rushed across the arena and began spinning right next to CUBE not a disc, the two continued rebounding off each other like Pinballs. The points lead changed 2 or 3 times during the corse of the battle, when time ran out and the dust settled CUBE not a disc came out on top. By a close 2896 points difference.
Winner: CUBE not a disc or a cylinder
Battle 3
The first 15 seconds lol another nub bot was already flipped over by Grey Matter, the robot was unable to self right and appeared defeated but Grey Matter was out for blood and continued the assault, Grey Matter constantly juggled around Nub bot like a cat with a mouse before nub bot lost all its wheels and was left to be counted out.
Winner: Grey Matter
Battle 4
Awful Red Thing FOS was slow to get off but quickly began ripping in to Bushido’s Byatch stripping the discs clean before taking a wheel off, another quick whip and the other wheel was gone, for the remainder of the match Bushido’s Byatch skated around the arena on its discs until time was called
Winner: Awful Red Thing FOS
Round 2:
Battle 1
SnSnSnSnS began spinning up after a few hits between the competitors SnSnSnSnS began getting up a really high speed, to make things worse for the top qualifier SnSnSnSnS was rebounding off the walls at a fast pace, one hit clearing off a handful of teeth and flipped over the Cubinator, the next blow taking a whole disc off, Cubinator was really up against it now. Another disc ripped away by SnSnSnSnS and time was called
Winner: SnSnSnSnS
Battle 2
A fast charge from Xenophobik straight in to grey matter but the attack backfired and Xenophobik gained serious damage, Grey Matter began tossing Xenophobik across the arena, Xenophobik then added a new twist, it successfully ripped off one of grey matters plows, the wheels were now exposed, Xenophobik then ripped away a wedge, Grey Matter was starting to fall apart, Xenophobik then showed Grey Matter its rear and Grey Matter went in for the fatal blow
Winner: Grey Matter
Battle 3
Smash down made a charge across the arena, the result was a car crash both robots upside down, Awful red thing was flailing around, smash down tried going under for the quick kill but each time it through awful red thing up it came down twice as hard, this continued until Awful red thing dealt the fatal blow
Winner: Awful Red Thing FOS
Battle 4
The battle started with a ram from Afterburner flipping CUBE not a disc but then afterburner lived up to its name and took off skyward…free restart to Naryar
Déjà vu the restart began the same way with a flipping shove from Afterburner, Afterburner then shoved CUBE not a disc around the arena and in to the Polycarbonate, then Afterburner was flipped, it could no longer use its wedges, Cube not a disc then got rid of the wedges, time out and CUBE not a disc had a whopping 96771 points
Winner: CUBE Not a Disc or a Cylinder
Round 3:
Grey Matter took out Awful Red Thing FOS and SnSnSnSnS remained undefeated against CUBE Not A Disk Or A Cylinder in a much anticipated match up
Final:
by the end both bot were looking a bit second hand but it was SnSnSnSnS that emerged as the winner of Clash Cubes 1
Losers Rumble:
as a consolation for the first round losers all four were put in a rumble match in which Big Bad Brother came out on top
Clash Cubes 2
Clash Cubes 2 will feature the new Official Super Heavyweight Class and 23 entrants with and additional 6 entrants fighting out for the final position in the bracket of 24 (otherwise known as the Wild Card), This a size that is was exceeded by BBEANS at the time the tournament was running. The first notable difference to Clash Cubes was in the qualifiers where competitors are faced with 2 house cubes and the main matches themselves were best 2 out of 3.
The 'Wild Card' bracket concluded with System32 and Sage as the victors (2 robots were taken due to the late withdrawal of Madiaba). The most notable part of the Wild Card portion of the tournament was the 2 grudge match videos, which included a video devoted to Life robot arena2's "trash talk" prior to the tournament and insults following his loss and a video of a grudge match in which HurricaneAndrew's reconfigured Surprise! v2 took on Sage's Mammoth who eliminated HurricaneAndrew in round 1.
Here are the results for the qualifiers.
