These are not strict categories, although most often a builder

DSL Standard

This style is mostly preoccupied by building efficiency. It seeks to use the best setups of the best components to build something interesting or good. It often frowns upon the use of useless components.

IRL

IRL building is characterized by building bots that could be made and could work in real life, and look like real life bots. Often they are poor battlers compared to most other bots because of lack of wedges or good weapons.

Artbot

Simply building bots because they look aesthetically pleasing or are generally "cool" in any shape, way of form. Utterly crazy designs go in there as well.

When a builder starts building in ra2, most often they have no well-defined style, and they just... build stuff. They will most often develop into another style via contact with other builders or natural growth.
