Alot of the bots in BBEANS 1 use building techniques that now are absolutely unacceptable. Although some bots (such as [[Event Horizon 2]], [[Flaming Whizzer]], and others were good and used many current techniques, like space management, [[DSA]] and snapper loading) Kind of reminiscent of the first series of Robot Wars.

Bot building has since evolved, in just 2 short years.

Many of these bots seem to have been built by new members, because [[Starcore]]'s third AI pack, with many well-built and still competitive bots, came out before BBEANS 1 took place.
