Rampant Puppy Love was a Middleweight Hammer/Wammer hybrid built by Metal Virus for BBEANS 1. It was Metal Virus's first of two BBEANS competitions, the second being BBEANS 2 with Apocalypse Pony, another Hammer/Wammer hybrid. Rampant Puppy Love was one of Clickbeetle's three robots that he thought were good enough to win the tournament. Rampant Puppy Love got a bye in the first round. RPL then lost to RipTide, because Rampant Puppy Love is different from other Hammer designs. Its ramming rack makes it more likely to hit the front of a bot instead of the bottom. So the spikes most likely were launched directly into the spinners. Then, Rampant Puppy Love lost to razor guy, a poorly built wammer, which has a chassis wedge, large exposed tires, and everything else that is fodder for a decent bot. Rampant Puppy Love lost, because two out of three times when razor guy and RPL hit in the middle of the arena, Rampant Puppy Love's springy wedges flipped it, and because it has trouble self-righting, it was pushed in to the corner saws. This led to Clickbeetle putting something in the middle of the arena for some of the next BBEANS tourneys, because too many things can happen on a freaky initial rush. Another example would be what happened to Mako, which soon-to-be champion Smashbox 2 rushed to it's eventual victory. Metal Virus is ranked 60th in BBEANS standings.
