Bad matchups are a tournament phenomenon in which a bot, usually a decently built one which was expected to win a lot of matches, is matched up against a number of bots that will most likely put it at a disadvantage.

Examples of this:

  • A VS matched up against a HS of some sort for the preliminaries, and then again against another HS in the loser's bracket.
  • A Rammer matched up against a Popup in the prelimenaries, and then against a Drum.
