Mauler Dancing happens when a robot has a fast spinning weapon, and loses a part of it weapon. The bot begins to wobble, and then can fall on it's side, and sort of lifts off the ground (usually balancing on one wheel). The name comes from the real life Battlebots competitor Mauler that was left spinning on its edge after it lost one of its spinning flails in a match against Bigger Brother.

A heavier form of Mauler Dancing is spikeball mode, when the bot goes wild after a particularly violent Mauler Dance and it bounces everywhere uncontrollably in the arena, effectively seeming like a ball of spikes. And the bot will stay that way until you stop spinnng. Mauler Dancing is caused by the centrifugal force acting on an unbalanced fast-spinning weapon.
