Robot Arena III is being released on the Steam marketplace on 26th May 2016, expected to cost $19.99USD, and is the first in the franchise to use the Unity game engine. Steam Workshop will be implemented for sharing designs and possibly more as the modding scene develops, and multiplayer will also be Steam based.
The developers stated in a Steam Q&A that Gametechmods will remain the main forum for Robot Arena.
