The razor tip, also known simply as a 'razor', is a weapon introduced in the stock version of Robot Arena 2. It is a small, steel spike with three thin blades attached to its shaft.

Stock
The razor tip is a fairly unique weapon in stock. At 7kg, it is the lightest weapon in the game; several other small components weight 8kg, despite a number of them appearing smaller or lighter than the razor. Razors are also biased completely to piercing damage, much like pole spikes and pointy tips. Unlike pole spikes and pointy tips however, razors have no hit normals. Another distinguishing fact about the razor tip, and perhaps its only major drawback, is that it only has 500 hitpoints (half of what other weapons in the game have).

Due to their light weight, compact size, and bias towards piercing damage, razors excel when used on high-speed, moving weapons. In terms of damaging ability, razors are the best weapon to use on horizontal spinners, vertical spinners, popups, and other such designs. These being the most common designs in stock, razors are the most prevalent weapon in the game, followed by iron spikes and maces.

While most builders opt for razor tips because of the efficacy on moving weapons and their low weight, it isn't always best to use them. Their low hitpoint rating makes them impractical on robots with limited weapons or weapons that also act as a protective means. In addition, they are not well suited for use in rammers or attacking other weapons because of their lack of concussion damage. In such situations, many builders substitute iron spikes (irons feature higher concussion damage and hitpoints at the cost of weight).

The razor tip's component file can be found in the "components" folder under the name "razortip1.txt".

DSL
Razor tips are still highly effective in DSL and clearly are one of the most widely used weapons in the game. In DSL form, razors still sport a high bias towards piercing with a modified piercing value of 2.18 and a concussion value of 0.4. Also modified is the weapon's hitpoint rating, which is doubled to give it 1000. While considerably higher than its stock incarnation, the razor's hitpoint level is still comparatively low to increased hitpoint ratings of DSL weapons. They are still very common in DSL, and are used primarily on flails and popups.
<!--The razor tips have a very high DP of 420 (aka 2.18 piercing and 0.4 concussion). Unfortunately, it's offset by having only a mere 1000 hitpoints.
keeping this info here because i don't know it by heart :3

The razor tip's component file can be found in the "components/syles" folder under the name "dslrazortip1.txt". The original text file from the stock version is still there, but it has been disabled.

Trivia and Random Facts
* Razors are arguably the most used weapon in the game.
* The razor's collision model does not end in a perfect point, but is instead a triangular frustum with a flat top.
* Naryar has become infamous for suggesting that builders use more razors on their robots.
* Doomkiller also became well known for his frequent use of razors.
