Servo Boosting

Servo boosting is a technique that can be exploited in both stock and DSL (more commonly DSL). Servo Boosting is the act of making a servo spin faster then its normal rate of speed, the main advantage of this is the fact a builder gets a spin motor without the need of batteries (given servos need no power). there are currently 6 known variations of servo boosting, the first concept was discovered by Firebeetle.

Firebeetle's Boosting

this glitch was first seen on the bot Gyratory Revolt. This glitch involves the servos accelerating at a high rate of speed with no top speed causing the servos to constantly accelerate. this glitch can be preformed by having a small chassis robot with two large counter rotating disc's, one on the top and to other on the base making the robot like a spinning top.

System32's Boosting

This is the first variation of servo boosting in Stock which first surfaced on System32's robot Flaxx, The servos sometimes spin faster than a bursted Z-Tek at random intervals, mainly when there is enough force to "Jolt" the axle slightly.

JoeBlo's Boosting (DSL)

JoeBlo has currently discovered 4 versions of Servo Boosting 3 in DSL with each building off the previous, the first one was using Firebeetle's Boosting but having axles on the discs causing the servo's to accelerate faster then a perm when the wired button isnt being pushed after spinning for a few seconds.

the second form involved making a small disc with 2 flail hammers spin and preform JoeBlos first glitch but once the disc starts accelerating in that way, using servos for drive will cause them to spin as fast as E-Tek drive making a killer SnS without using any batteries or additional weight.

Video Example

the third form JoeBlo discovered was expanding on the second form but having the small disc on top of a larger object attached to an axle.. the axle will then accelerate as fast as a dual perm which is amazing for something 80+ kg lighter.

JoeBlo's Boosting (Stock)

JoeBlo's fourth variation was also the first controllable stock Servo Boost... using two servos to "bounce" the axles sharply triggering an incredibly fast spinning robot.

This variation was first publicly shown by JoeBlo's BOTM entry, Endless Existence which went on to win BOTM for that Month.

A video of this robots abilities can be seen in the GameTechMods Media Gallery.
