G50
G50 is the fifth total conversion of Robot Arena 2 released (following Stock, DSL, Ironforge, and Robot Wars RA2 Mod), developed entirely by Team AFTERNIUM, while also featuring favorable additions including various arenas and additional components from other admirable users as well. Rather than orienting around entirely new build parts and arenas like the other variants, however, G50 orients entirely around a restructured physics engine tuned to make robots perform more accurately to irl designs like those featured in BattleBots, Robot Wars, and other live tournaments as well as buff hazards, motors, and mechanical components as well.
Features
As mentioned above, G50 does not mention many new components at all aside from a few new selections of mechanical parts and a few other miscellaneous component, but rather links quite a few pre-existing component sets together under its name with the new physics in play
- New UI style with a darkened tone to it for keeping up with AFTERNIUM's Apocalyptic theme
- Firebeetle's iconic parts like the Grapecrate, Fridge, Monster Wheels, and even Hammer of Judgement components, all rebuffed.
- DSL parts including a few props from existing robots like Apollyon and Behemoth, reskinned and buffed as well
- Complete Ironforge component library rebuffed like the rest.
- AI and Player robots are entirely developed by the Team Leader, but BeetleBros' Hammer of Judgement also makes an unexpected appearance in the first team as one of them!
- Arena hazards can literally scramble your foe and are buffed to crush even the most formidable competitors. Saw Hazards like those in the Half Circle Arena and Combat Arena can actually cut and break components off s well as incapacitate any unfortunate bots that strike them.
Component Buffs
G50 components are designed to hit harder, last longer, and create more chaotic reactions when broken off as opposed to the parts in other RA2 variants.
- nearly all G50 components have the visibility property set to true to they can be attached from anywhere without disappearing.
- Snowplows, Ram Plates and ramming devices have the "metal" stat in play to make them actually deal damage back when struck by other components or weapons
- The ratio of hitpoints on wheels and skinny, frail-looking components as opposed to other parts is significantly different to compare with irl scenarios like this one irl[1]
- weapons in G50 deal almost 175 times the # of damage points per hit as opposed to weapons in any other mod and in the same fashion, armor/defensive/core components are structured to justify that
