Trivia: Destroyer HPBL was a revised version of the original Destroyer which had a balance bar on the back. The only robot in RAW to use Balance Bars instead of Wedges. HPBL stands for "High Power Barless" refering to how the balance bar isn't on the back.

The splash showed the bot with the bar on the back, and no spike in the front.

Destroyer HPBL was a powerful Heavyweight VS built by JoeCB1991 for RAW. Destroyer HPBL was one of the only competitors in RAW that used a Dual Perm for the weapon, and it did have a powerful weapon. But it's performance in the Tournament was hindered by a problem with the AI that many competitors suffered from. Because it used a switch instead of a button to power the weapon, the AI kept turning it on and off, which dramatically slowed down the weapon.

In its first match it faced Mako 4, which easily beat Destroyer because Destroyer's weapon was too slow to throw Mako into the air as it was intended to do. But in a rematch that JoeCB1991 filmed on the DSL Arena while driving Destroyer HPBL and fighting Mako's AI, he won and he believes that he would of won if there wasn't an AI glitch.

In its second match in Destroyer HPBL faced the powerful shell spinner Daisy Might and lost in a close match. In the first match Destroyer flopped around for most of the match because its own power kept flipping it onto its back until Daisy won by a KO. The second match looked like it belonged to Destroyer in the beginning as it was throwing Daisy around the arena, but one of its hammers flew off and then Daisy was able to flip it over and knock it out. But in the third match Destroyer was able to rip off Daisy's Shell and at the end of the match all that was left of Daisy was its small chassis and a drive motor as it was thrown out of the arena.

Overall, Destroyer HPBL is a very powerful Vertical Spinner. But, it is unstable and it can be easily beaten if one of its hammers breaks off.
