DSL comes with 21 new arenas (not including the Practice Arena and Event Results) with features never before seen in RA2. Elevators, rovers, pendulums, bullies, and more make this pack one of the best ways of bringing new life to an ever aging game. It is also worth noting that most of the arenas were designed and built by Lu-Tze for DSL 1 but they are still capable of standing up to modern standards.

List of DSL Arenas

These arenas are separated into four categories - standard combat arenas, tabletop arenas, mini-game arenas, and specialized arenas.

Standard Combat Arenas

Standard combat arenas are the most basic type of arena. These arenas are designed to accommodate robot combat and can generally be found in either the Deathmatch, Battle Royal, Team Match, or Just For Fun (aka Obstacle Course) modes.

Name Preview Image Description
Bat Cave   "Battle it out Batman-style in the famous bat cave!"
Battlebox   "The classic Battlebox replicated for the ultimate experience in real robot fighting. It is a bit laggy, however."
DSL Cave Arena   "Watch out for rolling boulders as you fight in these caverns!"
DSL Drum of Death Arena   "DSL Drum Of Death Arena, an old zero gravity simulator stolen from NASA and modified into an arena, don't fly up too high!"
DSL Hamster Ball of Doom   "Battle inside a giant hamster ball! Be careful not to get flipped when it rolls, or you could land helpless in the middle of a pack of hungry robots."
DSL Ice Arena   "Be careful not to slip on the ice, or you could end up sliding into a wall of spikes."
DSL Onslaught Arena   "Welcome to the SEQUEL"
DSL Schoolyard Arena   "Back to the Schoolyard for this fight. Don't get wet, and mind the bully doesn't kick out about too much."
DSL Space Station Arena   "On two levels, use the lift to get up and down, red = down, green = up, and don't get off while it's moving or you'll end up in orbit."
DSL Tournament Arena   "DSL Official Tournament Arena."
Mars Base   "Battle it out inside this mars base."
The Pyramid   "Battle it out with your modern marvels on this ancient one!"
The Ring   "The Ring was designed as a circular race track, but with no way to count laps works better as a test course."
Robot Wars Arena   "Robot Wars Arena, don't drop into the pit, mind the flipper and don't stay in the dropzone too long."
Stunt Arena   "Awesome stunt mayhem! Features loops, jumps, bumps, and more! But beware...if you fall into the AI cage, you'll have to fight! A fast bot and using the Orbit Cam is recommended."

Tabletop Arenas

Tabletop matches are identical to Battle Royal matches with regards to rules. The big twist, however, is that these arenas have no walls and any soul willing to venture outside the arena's boundaries will undoubtedly regret it. Although some of these arenas are not found in the Tabletop mode, they are still considered tabletops.

DSL Blade Arena   "Nice tabletop arena, with a 'Twist'."
DSL Lava Island Arena   "Battle it out atop this volcanic island. Keep to high ground, or you'll get consumed by the lava as the island sinks!"
Honey I Shrunk the Bots   "Welcome to the miniature world of bot fighting!"
Ocean Platform   "Battle it out on a platform in the middle of the ocean! But watch out for the four spinners, and avoid the edge of the platform. If your bot falls in the water it will short circuit and be eliminated!"

Mini-Game Arenas

These arenas present the bots with a different challenge than mere combat.

DSL Obstacle Course Arena   "Can you battle you way to the conflict zone and still have enough robot left to fight? Use player slots 1 and 4 for Humans, slots 2 and 3 for AI."
DSL Soccer Arena   "FOR TEAM MATCH GAME TYPE ONLY, Use Players 1 and 3 for two player games. Soccer arena with point scoring goals, for the budding Beckhams amongst you"

Specialized Arenas

These arenas are characterized by the fact that they can only contain one robot at a time. As such, they are not accessible in the same areas as the other arenas and do not have real preview pictures. They do, however, have features that are neither seen nor accessible within other arenas.

Event Results no preview image "Event Result spot."
Practice Arena no preview image no in-game description
