Custom components are components created by some players. Generally unbalanced. Not including skinning.

Generally, using custom components to fight other bots, especially stock AI, is considered as cheating, thenn00b or ed30t behaviour,

Worse, showcasing robots with custom components on them is the best way to be flamed. If you make that as a newbie, this can lead to the Venko Effect (but Venko himself never used custom components)
