An axle spinner is a robot that uses axles instead of motors for moving weapons systems like face spinners, horizontal spinners and vertical spinners. Axle spinning weapons move as the robot does and pick up momentum when the robot makes impact with something, this can mean using an opponents own weapon against them by using that opponents active weapon to actually power up the axle spinner.
Axle spinners are growing in popularity in antweight robots with evidence that they can perform well in that weight class as shown by Ianh05's Mini - Flaming Whizzer robot which won the stock mini's vs starcore AW's display tournament.
