Wedges are a quite simple bot design and good for starters that want to practice their driving. It is basically a robot with a sloped front, and a low ground clearance, for getting under other bots. A fast drive train helps, too.

However, normal wedge bots doesn't have any weapons, and this is more than an issue in an arena without any possibility to get OOTAs or destructive hazards, so it is better to include a weapon.

You might as well want to get an efficient wedge design on your robot.

PROS

-Can control another bot by taking away it's drive train -Decent amount of damage deflection

CONS

-No damage : must be hybrided with some other bot type to deal damage -Loses it's advantage when destroyed.
