As of now, you should have a good idea how many points someone deserves for something. Currently there really is no limit as to how many points one should receive, and it typically balances out thanks to the other members. But of course you shouldn't be making ridiculously high or low ratings anyway - if that's the case chances are, that too will balance out.

10 Commandments For Fear And Respect Raters (+1) is Gigafrost's 10 things that all Fear and Respect Raters must look to in their quest for successful ratings. The ten commandments are as follows:

   * Thou shalt not make false judgements.
   * Thou shalt not judge based on emotion.
   * Thou shalt not judge based on relationship.
   * Thou shalt make all judgements logical and true.
   * Thou shalt display EVERY change on the summary of the members edited page.
   * Thou shalt not boast.
   * Thou shalt not slander.
   * Thou shalt abide by the rules of the nomination threads.
   * Thou shalt weareth thine badge proudly.
   * Thou shalt respect the badge, it's power, and never giveith it to another member.
   * And thou shalt of course, Have fun!
