The way its spinners spun also kept it from self-righting, and in some cases, immobilized it. Shadow was thought of as an okay bot before the tournament started, but it got matched up with two good wedges, which got right under the shell spinner plate and ate up Shadow. The flipper was not AIed to launch in the tournament because it couldn't life a heavyweight bot.
