The robot is a mobile "[[sandbot]]", a "punching bag" style of robot designed by [[Bryce Genesis]] (an [[AceUplink]] member from 2003 who stayed in the community for only a few months). A "sandbot" is meant to be an immobile box with caster wheels to reduce friction; seeing an opportunity to build upon a long since forgotten design, RFS opted to pioneer a mobile version of the sandbot as a proof of concept. The Legend of Bryce Genesis also features artwork by the community member it derives its name from who selected his screenname based upon the modeling software Bryce5.

For BattleBots 9, The Legend of Bryce Genesis received a bye to the Round of 32 where it lost by a KO to [[Thunderclap]] by [[Clickbeetle]]. A [[Havok Explosion]] flipped The Legend of Bryce Genesis over resulting in the robot being unable to leave its starting square.
