Normals refer to a weapon special statistic in Robot Arena 2 - a normal'ed weapon has parts that does no damage to an opponent. Because of this fact, weapons that have normals usually hinder the full destructiveness of a bot, since they have a greater chance of not damaging then bots that have no normals on their weapons.
Normals can be either single-sided or double-sided. A single-sided normal makes only damage in one direction, a double sided in 2.
