-So exactly who the hell is SpyGuy?  Where did he come from?  What's he really like outside of Robot Arena 2?  Is he really THAT obnoxious and perverted?  I know a bunch of people have been asking themselves these questions for a while, so maybe I can answer them here....

-First off, my real name is Bill, but I am more commonly known as SpyGuy to those here on the RA2 forums.  The handle came from an old video game known as Spy Hunter, a James Bond-type driving game that myself and several friends used to play on a regular basis.  When it came time to enter in our initials for the higher scores, I would always put in SPY.  SPY became SpyGuy, and the rest, as they say, is history.
-I live in Tucson, Arizona (transplanted from San Francisco Bay Area, California).  I have a degree in English, with a minor in computer programming ... most of which I have forgotten over the years, so am working on learning new stuff all over again.  As you can see, I love to write, and have written a number of short stories for my own enjoyment.
-Recently, I started a new job as an office-furniture installer/assembler, travelling to different job sites and installing desks, filing cabinets, and the like.  Previous jobs included working in various retail businesses, building maintenance, selling paint, toys,  and car parts.
-I am fairly laid-back and easy-going, with an offbeat sense of humor, as most everyone on the forums has seen at one time or another.  Perverted?  Oh, nowhere near what my friends and I used to do - to us, everything could be twisted into a sexual innuendo, or a double entendre, and therefore was fair game.  (We learned very quickly to talk VERY precisely around each other, and most times that didn't work, either.)  It was funny, and we were having fun.  Sure, I can be serious when the occasion demands, but why?  It's MUCH more fun being "lovably obnoxious," as several of my closest friends describe me.  What few people realize about me - the other side of SpyGuy - is that I am also a very good listener, and often go out of my way to help a friend in need.  I am the one people come to when they have a problem, and need someone to talk to, and ask for advice.  I can't say my advice is always good advice, but I will give an honest opinion of what I think of the situation.
-When I'm online, which is usually every evening for a couple of hours or so, my "internet hobby" is researching cars and vehicles from movies and TV, such as the Mad Max vehicles and the Batman vehicles.  Offline, some of the things I enjoy doing are artwork, mostly drawing with pen and ink, working on my classic '73 Volkswagen Bug, and helping my girlfriend with her linedance class/deejay business.  A fun little sideline is mixing together some of my vast array of sound effects to form funny sound clips featuring different movie quotes and music.
-Also, I am an avid ferroequinologist.  (Wha ......?)  For those of you who are wondering what the heck that means, it's very easy: "ferro-" = iron, "-equine-" = horse, "-ologist" = one who studies.  Literal translation: "one who studies the iron horse", commonly known as "trains". (See?  And you thought I was making this up ..........)  I am a model train enthusiast, with a rather large collection of different-scale trains.  My current project is an N-scale layout in a glass-toppped coffee table, and an HO-scale loop runs around the upper half of my room.  If anyone is interested, I can post a few pictures of my collection of N and HO scale trains.
-On June 22, 2006, my 38th birthday, I joined the Robot Arena forums - if you're bothering to pay attention to the numbers, that makes me 39 - but I had actually found the game approximately six months previous to finding the forums and signing up.  Previous to that, I was playing other computer games, mostly racing and demolition derby games, rollercoaster construction games, and pinball games.  To date, I have something like twenty  different racing games, four different rollercoaster games, and twelve different pinball tables to choose from, so I'm never bored when I rev up my computers!  Those make up a large portion of my game interests, as well as constructing little robots that beat the bejesus out of other robots, of course .....
