A Wammer is a Wedge made of, or covered with, weapons, and therefore a Rammer/Wedge hybrid. The design is to force opponents on the wedges, and in the weapons. Notable Wammers are Devil II, Psyco Sweeper, Event Horizon 2, Agony and Cold Front.
Sometimes slower than rammers, they are also MUCH more common in DSL than in Stock.
The term itself was created by Clickbeetle (with Cold Front).
PROS:
- Wedge assures some defense against gut-rippers, like VS or Popups, and assures an edge against non-wedges
- Good speed
- Good opponent control ability
- Generally lots of weight dedicated to weapons
CONS:
- Underwhelming damage
- Unlike a rammer, forces one to fight the wedge war
- 1 vs 1 specialists
- Unlike a rammer, is less effective when inverted
- No reliable way to self-right
