The RA2 Hall of Fame was set up in 2010 by Badnik96. He, after a suggestion by Sonny_Resetti announced the format as similar to The Combat Robot Hall of Fame. Everybody would vote anonymously, and any robot on 50% of the ballots would be inducted to the hall. Any robot on 25-49% of the votes would be given an honourable mention.
The first Ballot was taken on February 21, 2010 by Badnik96.
In August 2011, Urjak restarted the Hall of Fame, using a new system proposed by JoeBlo where a set of nominees were established via PM votes, and the final ten inductees were decided by a poll on the main forum. This allowed for a massive turnout of 52 voters.
Current Members
Robot Name | Image | Builder | Percentage of voters | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
EMERGENCY | Gabriel Interactive | 75% voted for EMERGENCY | Everyone's original nightmare, EMERGENCY the flipper bot dominated many player's early careers. With its custom wedges, double strength steel, and raw pushing power, it was the first real accomplishment of a builder's career to beat this one. | |
Spinner from the West | razer | 73% voted for SFTW | SFTW has been immmortalized for being terrible. As one of the worst bots ever to have entered a BBEANS tournament, it has become a meme and a component. | |
Neglected Waterbug | Rejected | 67% voted for Neglected Waterbug | The robot with the best wedges of the Starcore AI packs, Rejected's juggler struck, and continues to strike fear into the most accomplished of builders. It took pleasure in shredding the underside of every robot. | |
Absolute Chaos | InfiniteInertia | 67% voted for Absolute Chaos | Often mistaken for being the first ever 36 mace spinner (actually the second), InfiniteInertia's pride and joy took building to a whole new extreme. One of the deadliest bots around even today, nobody wanted to face it in BBEANS 5. | |
Mako | Jules | 58% voted for Mako | Despite finishing second in BBEANS 2, Mako is often remembered more than the victor, Smashbox 2. With the tremendously powerful hammers and innovative wedges, it threw many an opponent from the arena. | |
E-Rupt | JimXorb | 52% voted for E-Rupt | The pioneer of the Rupt Glitch, E-Rupt tossed all robots, from EMERGENCY to Killer high in the air. Many a bot has been inspired by this. | |
Hammer of Justice | File:HoJ.jpg | Firebeetle | 48% voted for HoJ | One of the largest bots in history, Hammer of Justice gave many players the pleasure of flattening their opponents. |
Insult to Injury V | Alterer of Reality | 40% voted for ItI V | The SFTW that wasn't. Alterer of Reality's VS was criticised for numerous flaws, but thanks to ballasts and its surprisingly effective spiked clubs, it took down a favoured rammer, a 36 mace spinner and the defending champion before being defeated in BBEANS 5. | |
Project Trinity | MAD Scientist | 2010 | The first bot to make use of the highly effective Trinity Glitch, MAD Scientist's Project Trinity wowed many a builder. | |
Rabid Pit Bull | Rejected | 2010 | Rejected took a simple face spinner and turned it into this, a ferocuious monster that chewed bots to pieces, and to this day is one of the best face spinners around. |
