The FlexTop is a tabletop arena packaged with the original version of Robot Arena 2. It is a large, donut-shaped platform that can flex in any direction depending on the weight distribution. This arena is spring loaded so don't think you're out of danger after pushing an opponent off. Also, be weary of having a higher weight class than your opponent as it may result in bots being catapulted.
Overview
The FlexTop is unique among arenas in the sense that the entire platform is a movable, physically simulated object. The table will flex and wobble according to how the weight of each robot is distributed on top of it, making it difficult to stay out of the pit. The arena's flexing can be disabled by disabling the hazards, making the arena a static, wall-less donut.
This arena is notorious among arenas, and is widely considered to be the worst arena packaged with the game. Because of RA2's dated physics engine, the FlexTop is rather unrealistic. It's also not uncommon to have a havoc glitch occur when using this arena due to the fact that the entire floor must be physically simulated. This also makes it laggy in online play. Even disregarding all this, the FlexTop is ill-suited for tournaments. The arena confuses AI's to the point where the player can repeatedly win matches by not moving at all and waiting for the AI's to fall off the arena.
