TDS (formerly known as DaStompa) is a former administrator of AceUplink.
He was viewed by many as a tyrant administrator and for several community members served to be a source of problems. Under the name DaStompa he was a moderator for the official Robot Arena forums. He was eventually permabanned after flooding the forum with goatse and allegedly returned while posing as a female. He was banned within a month or so of this return.
His placement within the AceUplink staff sparked controversy when Towerboy (the lead administrator of the official forums) made an agreement with JFranco (the owner of AceUplink) to have a mutual ban list. To prevent members of one forum from raiding the other it was decided that everyone banned at AceUplik would be banned at the official forums and vice versa. TDS had been banned from the official forums twice yet AceUplink never lived up to their end of the bargain by mirroring the ban or demoting him.
Notable Contributions
- Ubermod: A large overhauling of all of the game's stock components to make them more "balanced" and realistic.
- Digital Apocalypse: Allegedly the very first vertical spinner in Robot Arena 2.
Post-AceUplink
Presently, TDS practices airsoft as a hobby with a group called TeamSpartanHelmet. He has gone back to using the name "DaStompa". He recently returned to the RA2 community and has begun building real-life robots again.
Caricatures
Due to his notoriety in the Robot Arena 2 community, TDS and his mannerisms were often the butt of a number of in-jokes at various communities. Below are some examples:
- Members of the Advanced Robot Combat community created a religious flyer for "TDS-ism" which featured TDS' face with a halo and angel wings and made references to his treatment of forum users.
- A small spinning TDS face was used on the RFSHQ forums using the shortcut ":tds:".
- His robot Digital Apocalypse commonly gets tongue-in-cheek references in discussions about vertical spinner designs.
- An exaggerated version of TDS was portrayed by an ARC community member in the community web series The Gemini Show.
Real-Life Robots
- Digital Sentience: Hobbyweight. Was a four-wheeled ramming robot. TDS posted a video of the robot fighting Premium Blend and losing by a KO.
- Denial of Service: Middleweight. Was intended to be a four-wheeled robot with blue armor and a large three-tooth cutting disc. This robot lost in spectacular fashion at some point, only parts of it remain.
- Ruin: 30lb Sportsman. a four-wheeled robot armed with an incredibly powerful pneumatic axe. Unfortunately it has yet to compete at its full capacity.
