Smitemare 8 was a Middleweight Angled VS built by Sorrow for BBEANS 4. Smitemare 8 was one of the Mako clones in BBEANS 4. The others were DOAM, Gohem, and to a certain extent No Leaf Clover. Smitemare 8 more defensive than DOAM, but slower. Pyscolone said that he wondered why that through 8 revisions, Smitemare still looked alot like a Mako clone. Smitemare breezed through Thumper, before it got to Haymaker. Smitemare 8 was able to defeat Haymaker, one of the heavily favored bots before the tourney. Smitemare 8 sent it OOTA twice, because of the vertical weapon that sent Haymaker up into the and unbalanced it. Smitemare was then punted OOTA all three times by DOAM, and got its final win with a 3-0 sweep of Red Tide VI. Smitemare was thoroughly overmatched by Red, Red, Green?, and lost all three matches, eliminating it from the tourney. Sorrow is ranked 19th in BBEANS Standings.
